Glossary:

Cup Point Set Screw - The cup point is the most comonly used set screw. It has a cup-shaped indentation on one end. The cup point is used for quick, permanent and semi-permanent part assemblys and where the cutting in of the cup point edge is acceptable.

Flat Point Set Screw - The flat point has a flat surface on one end. It is used for frequent relocation of parts where minimal shaft deformation is required.

Half Dog Point Set Screw - The half dog point has a flat tip protruding from one end. It is used for the permanent setting of parts and often is used in place of a dowel pin.

Cone Point Set Screw - The cone point has a sharp conical point on one end. It is used for the permanent setting of parts. Because of the deep penetration of the cone point it offers the highest torsional and axial holding capability.

Oval Point Set Screw - The oval point has an oval shaped point on one end. It is used where frequent adjustments are needed and where minimal deforming of the part is required. It is also ideal when the point meets the part on an angle.
